drawing set

This is a drawing set I created using vintage iteams I collected. I really like the composition, the hanging pots add alot of interest and creativity in the set. I also like the colour scheme

trip to bowes museum

I had never been to Bowes museum before, I was expecting something small, with the name above the door and maybe a cafe or gift shop inside. I was pretty surprised when I saw this!

Alternative Drawing Techniques

This is an A1 sheet i created on alternative drawing techniques. I chose to base this sheet on flowers and keep the colour schemes shades of pink to emphasise the pink roses. Some of the techniques I used was carbon tracing, screen wash and mono printing. I also worked into some of the studies with paint and paint.

Purple Calla Lilies

The purple calla lilie's are my favourive all time flowers. I love the unusual shape and think the mixtures of purple and pinks are lovely. I love this flower so much I drew it from many different angles and using different media.

Roses....

Developing my Roses.
This was the origional rose I sketched in pencil.

I then used thin white tissue paper to trace the outline of the rose with black Gouache paint.

I then traced over this image again using the same technique. This time I painted the rose with Gouache paints using block colour. I am really pleased with this rose considering this was the second time I used block colour, which I think is quite hard to get used to not blending the colours.

New modual

Just handed in all my work for my 'visual language' unit... sitting nicely in a neat pile at my studio desk waiting to be marked. Time to upload some of it I think.

a little bit of Photography

I done this textile piece a while ago now. To make it I was inspire by calla lilies because they were'nt the 'typical flower shape', I found them really interesting.
When Making this piece I created all the flowers and leaves from felt. I really struggled with the scructure and composition of this piece so in the end I attatched all the flowers to a piece of drift wood I found at the beach, and made it into a 3D sculpture. Think it worked well.
